The program

Red Cross supports members of the community to be more independent, to improve their wellbeing and social connection, and to remain living independently. We do this by making daily welfare calls to people who live at home and may be experiencing social isolation.

The opportunity

If you are over the age of 18 and interested in speaking with older people and have the ability to communicate with people from a variety of backgrounds this will be the ideal role for you.

The TeleCross caller will contact clients as per a call sheet, check the client’s state of wellbeing, and provide social connection.

TeleCross calls are made from the comfort of your own home.

The impact

As a Telecross volunteer, you’ll provide peace of mind and be a friendly voice that improves the social connections and wellbeing of older people who may be experiencing isolation and loneliness.
