NurtureTime Volunteer: In Hospital Peer Support at JHCH NICU

Miracle Babies Foundation

Logo for Miracle Babies Foundation

To offer peer support in this volunteer role, your baby must have been an inpatient in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN).

Miracle Babies Foundation is Australia's leading organisation that supports premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them.

NurtureTime in-hospital support is facilitated by caring parents who themselves have experienced the birth of premature or sick newborn.

Our valuable NurtureTime Volunteers visit the hospital to provide peer support, guidance and hope within the premises of approved hospitals, for families that have babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN). Parents, family and friends can ask you questions whilst you provide them the opportunity to share their thoughts, feelings and journey with you, knowing that you have also experienced a premature or sick newborn. Our in-hospital parent support sessions operate within NICU’s and SCN's around Australia.

We are seeking volunteers who are committed to volunteer fortnightly or monthly for approx. 2 hours.

You will undertake both a Miracle Babies Foundation and Hospital volunteer on-boarding process before being eligible to provide in-hospital support. This will include interviews, screening and training (online and mandatory).

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
