We prefer that you currently own no more than the number of cats permitted by your local government area and have been involved with cat welfare in the past either as a rescuer, foster carer or animal welfare attendant, that you have a clean criminal history and have not been declared bankrupt.

To facilitate meetings, we would prefer that you live in the Whittlesea, Brimbank, Darebin, Banyule, Hume or Moreland local government areas. However, your work will mostly be done over email, by phone and on computer via the internet using MS Word, Adobe Acrobat Reader and MSExcel applications.

The secretary position is a voting member role so, one of your functions will be to vote on resolutions and contribute to debate, as well as offering suggestions upon which resolutions will be made.

You must not be holding a similar role or hold a committee member role or be a member of another cat welfare organisation, or be employed or contracted to a municipal council concurrently with this role.

We would like to have your commitment to the role for the long term, of course, and that you have enough spare time to work on projects.

On selected days, we would be grateful if you can also help out by attending our physical fundraising activity.

We sometimes do official business with councils and government. A confidence to sit in on face to face meetings or via the internet would be well regarded. You need to be able to present professionally. Thus, this role may see you attending meetings during the week days from time to time.
