This volunteer opportunity will help to provide a positive customer service experience to the residents of the village and customers of the cafe whilst assisting with general cafe tasks.

The customers are mostly residents of the retirement village, their families, friends and staff. The ideal candidate would have a strong focus on customer service, be well presented and polite with an understanding of the retiree demographic. Duties would include greeting customers and assisting with COVID-19 sign-in procedures, taking orders, table waiting and general assistance in the kitchen.

The Cafe is open from 8.30am until 2.00pm, Monday to Friday. The hours are mostly within school hours. The atmosphere is pleasant with many returning customers each day. It's a small close knit team with our intention to make each day special for our customers.

Tasks involved include: Greeting customers and assisting with COVID-19 sign-in procedures. Taking food and coffee orders. Cash register and EFTPOS machine use. Delivering food and beverages to tables. Clearing and sanitising tables between customers. Assisting with food preparation. Making beverages (coffee, tea, milkshakes). Assisting with kitchen clean up.

Skills Required: Customer service skills. Cash handling experience. Barista experience/training. Table waiting experience. Kitchen hand experience. C Class drivers licence.
