Botany Family & Children’s Centre (BFCC) is a non for profit, incorporated, Registered Charity, supporting children and families, in the Bayside and Randwick LGAs.

Our vision is a safe and well-connected community for children and families. To achieve this goal, we work with our community and partners to provide evidence-informed early intervention and prevention services, promoting the safety and wellbeing of children and families. BFCC stands 43 years strong working with the community, we will begin 2023 with exciting new initiatives and growth.

The Role BFCC is seeking a Management Committee member who can support and share their experience and skills to strengthen leadership and governance. Working collaboratively with other members, you would oversee and support our Mission and Vision to ensure the Centre continues to thrive and grow.

Ideally candidates will have specific skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • Risk and compliance

  • Organisational development

  • Community engagement

  • Information technology

  • Fundraising

  • Human resources

Management Committee members are accountable to ensure the organisation meets contractual requirements, achieves targeted outcomes, complies with legal obligations and remains solvent.

BFCC’s voluntary Management Committee plays a pivotal role in the organisation. Management Committee members are expected to read board materials in advance of meetings and to come prepared to participate in discussions.

Your time commitment The Management Committee meets the second Monday of each month at 4 pm. The Management Committee role would have a minimum time commitment of 6-8 hours per month, this includes preparation and attendance at monthly meetings. Participation in Board Projects and extraordinary meetings, (as needed), is required. Members can attend meetings via Microsoft Teams.

Successful applicants for the position will require a Working with Children & Criminal Records Check.
