Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all Australian states have health and social distancing rules in place to minimise the spread of the virus. COVID-19 has also impacted and reduced the number of volunteer opportunities available this year. Please check your state’s restrictions before expressing your interest in volunteering.

The Salvation Army provides over 130,000 meals and more than 36,000 food hampers to individuals and families in need. Salvos volunteers like you help spread cheer among almost 70,000 households each Christmas. By getting involved this year, you're helping make sure we lave no one in need.

Do you have willingness to assist in setting up our toy room and distribute toys and hampers for families in need this Christmas? If so, we need you!

If you live in the St Marys area or surrounds, you might like to assist in creating Christmas joy by sorting and distributing Christmas hampers and toys. We require people to set up the Christmas room and distribute hampers and gifts for families requiring support this Christmas.

We require volunteers:

• Warehouse set-up days: 8th - 10th Dec 9.30am - 12.00pm and 12.30pm - 3:00pm

• Toy & Hamper open days: 14th - 18th Dec 9.30am - 12.00pm and 12.30pm - 3:00pm

Please nominate your preferred shift(s) in "Interests, skills & qualifications" and how many people in your group

Please note:

• Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of all. Please check your state's restrictions before expressing interest in volunteering.

• We experience a high volume of interest in Christmas volunteering, it may take time for us to respond to your expression of interest

• A reasonable level of physical fitness is required to fulfill the duties of the role. Standing, lifting and walking required, no sitting down roles. Due to limitations of location, there is no wheelchair access available.

• BYO lunch (snacks/drinks provided).

• Lifting of boxes/heavy items required.

• No specific experience is required for this role. It will be suitable for volunteers who can embody the Christmas spirit.
