Victims & Witnesses of Crime Court SupportThe main task for the volunteers will be:

To develop a yearly roster based on the availability of the CSOs (Court Support Officers)

Communicate by email with the relevant agencies and with the CSOs

Allocate CSOs to the client(s) that has been referred

On receiving email referrals use VWCCS’ template to provide information to the relevant agencies and to CSOs so that there is a trail of information

Maintain a monthly planner that records each court attendance with details of referring agency, CSO, accused, victim / witness, charge, court location and duty of the CSO
The volunteers will need to:

Be available to respond to requests from the relevant agency in a timely manner

Be very flexible in order to deal with last minute requests, changes to starting dates of trials at short notice, adjournments etc
• Have the ability to work at varying times and for varying amounts of time. Some days there could be no referrals other days there could be a number to coordinate and on other occasions you may need to give some time to the coordination on a daily basis

Have the ability to use email and excel

Have good attention to detail

Excellent communication skills.
Compulsory attendance at VWCCS’ Induction and Training Program where the 2 volunteer Roster Referral Coordinators would also meet the relevant VWCCS volunteers involved and certain referral agencies, as well as an orientation in the Downing Centre.
