Community Aid Volunteer

Community Aid Volunteers at Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury provide social support for frail aged people 65 years or older. The volunteers form part of the Community Services team and provide a variety of services for older clients, e.g. transport to appointments, companionship visits, accompanied shopping, or social phone calls.
The key objectives of this volunteer role are:
To provide regular phone support to Community Aid clients who may feel lonely and isolated
To drive clients to and/or from engagements such as medical and other appointments, accompanied shopping, other activities/outings
To provide companionship visits for those clients who are lonely and isolated
To report to Community Aid Support any changes in a client’s situation that might be relevant to their wellbeing or circumstances
To perform other administrative duties to meet the objectives as required by Community Aid Support
About you
Basic skills in active listening and empathic response
Basic computer skills
An understanding of Lifeline’s vision and purpose
Ability to work autonomously
Be 18+ years of age
Provide proof of vaccination status when required
Preferably possess a current Driver Licence and have access to a vehicle
Able to commit for at least 6 months
Available to perform given tasks between 9am and 3pm Mon to Friday
