Online Shop Assistant - Anglicare WA Fremantle Op Shop

Do you have an eye for fashion? Great photography and writing skills? Anglicare WA Op Shops are looking for a talented volunteer to assist them in listing stock for their online Op Shop.

About Anglicare WA: Anglicare WA is a not for profit community service organization. For over 40 years we have been a trusted partner helping communities thrive. We offer 86 services in 44 locations across Western Australia, including services that support families and young people, provide financial counselling, advocacy and mental health support and seek to influence policy makers and drive positive and lasting change.

​Anglicare WA Op Shops have recently launched their online op shop, giving customers the opportunity to access good quality, affordable second-hand goods from the comfort of their home.

It is important that garments displayed in our online shop are photographed well, with details about their condition and history recorded and communicated.

We are looking for a volunteer to support our team in inspecting, researching, recording and photographing garments, ready for listing in our online store. You will be a key player in helping good-quality preloved clothing find a new home, at the same time as helping to raise money for Anglicare WA’s services.

Your regular duties throughout an average day will involve:

• Identifying and researching the brand or features of garments to assist with appropriate pricing of garments •Inspecting garments for any damage or flaws, and photographing and recording these •Styling and photographing garments for display in the online shop and Instagram shopping •Writing blurbs for online listings
•Selecting and packing orders
•Arranging courier for completed orders •Other duties as agreed upon between volunteer and Manager, Anglicare WA Op Shops •Following Anglicare WA Op Shops social media and other procedures

About You: People interested in volunteering as an Online Store volunteer should enjoy interacting with others, and have the following skills or attributes:

•Knowledge of fashion brands, both current and historic, or an interest in fashion with good research skills • Desire to help others • Good communication skills • Ability to work autonomously within a team environment • Ability to operate a DSLR camera (desirable but not essential) • Good communication skills (written and verbal) • Good attention to detail • Good organisational skills and ability to follow processes

However, the most important thing we are looking for is someone who shares and models Anglicare WA’s values, is a motivated and friendly team player and has a willingness to learn.

Timing: We are looking for volunteers available to assist in our Fremantle store at the following times:

Wednesday or Friday between 10am and 1pm

Essential Screening and Checks Before commencing all volunteers will need to: • Hold a National Police Clearance valid within the last 12 months, or be willing to apply for one. (If you do not have one of these, we can assist you to apply.) • Complete Anglicare WA’s volunteer induction steps and training.
