The mission of The Salvation Army Employment Plus network is to change lives and communities through the power of employment. By assisting jobseekers to build their resume, this role will be key in supporting the EPlus team to focus on job readiness for their job seekers.

A Typical Day Will See You

  • Liaise with Job Seekers to ascertain skills, knowledge, experience and interests

  • Assist job seekers create their resume

  • Update databases to support identification of applicants for job opportunities

  • Follow up with Jobseekers with regard to their appointments, provide support as required

To Succeed In This Volunteer Role You Will

  • Have a positive and friendly disposition and be able to build rapport and trust quickly

  • Experience in customer service and/or administration is preferred with strong attention to detail

  • Have intermediate knowledge and experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and computer systems

  • Display a good level of organisational skills

  • Have sound communication skills both written and verbal

  • Maintain confidentiality when handling information and complete tasks to a high standard. 

  • Be reliable, trustworthy and respectful of the differing views and rights of others and be able to work within the mission and values of The Salvation Army

Time Commitment

  • Maximum of 15 hours per week across Monday to Friday (negotiable).

Qualifications & Experience Requirements for the Role

  • Qualifications in or currently studying Business Management, HR or equivalent is highly desired but not essential

  • Resume writing experience is highly desired

  • The ability to work as a supportive, cooperative team member, share information and acknowledge the contribution and support of others

  • Provides service appropriately and responsively to the needs of the people with compassion and empathy

  • Support and act in compliance with the records, information and knowledge management requirements of TSA

Mandatory Requirements of the Role

  • Complete TSA volunteer registration, induction and training process - TSA is a ChildSafe workplace

  • Current Criminal History Check (Police Check) and current Blue Card are required
