Community visitor social volunteer in Newcastle Hunter region (CVS)
HammondCare Australia
Volunteering with HammondCare At Home is one way you can give something back to the aged or frail in our society. Not only does volunteering have an impact on the person you spend time with, but you'll learn a lot and meet new people.
We are looking for enthusiastic and caring individuals in the Newcastle area, who can sit and have a chat, reminisce and talk about topics of interest with an elderly lady or gentleman. You may want to spend some time in the garden, play cards, listen to music or do some arts and craft activities.
Your impact
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the clients you are matched with.
The Community Visitor Scheme (CVS) is a Federal Government initiative established to promote links between elderly people and their local community.
