Who we are:

The Gomo Foundation (Gomo) is committed to unleashing the potential of girls in Africa through quality education. Gomo currently sponsors girls in rural Zimbabwe to complete their high school education, helping to create generational change for them and their communities.

The role:

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Graphic Designer will work across the Communications team and oversee the execution of the Gomo brand across the website, online platforms, newsletters, marketing material, publications, exhibitions and displays. As a skilled creative, this role is essential in communicating Gomo’s mission, as well as attracting a wider audience to the Foundation. The role is based in Melbourne and predominantly works remotely.

We are looking for someone who is aligned with our Values of Community, Courage, Generosity, Passion, Integrity and who is driven to move the dial on gender equality. A person willing to commit to approximately 5 hours a week over a minimum of 1 year.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• As a key member of the Marketing team, responsible for the concepts and creation of Social and Digital Marketing assets and templates

• Uphold the existing Gomo Foundation visual brand, updating ongoing communications and event materials as required

• Proactively identify ways to improve the Gomo website content, and perform updates as and when content changes

• Collate and format various internal documents

• Support the delivery of the Gomo Marketing strategy with development Assist in the design of images for Social Media content

• Develop the visual components of Marketing materials and collateral

• Collaborate regularly with the wider Marketing team (copywriters, photographers, web developers and social media and marketing specialists, copywriters, photographers, and web developers)

• Collate and format various internal documents as required

• Maintain a detailed understanding of the developing Gomo strategic priorities and partnerships in order to continue the development of the Gomo brand

• Uphold the existing Gomo Foundation visual brand, updating ongoing communications and event materials as required

• Attend monthly team meetings and assist with Gomo Foundation events on a periodic basis

Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience in graphic design or related field

• Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, Mailchimp, Canva

• Advanced skills in design programs

• Up to date knowledge of industry software

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and maintain deadlines of tasks

• Self-starter that can work independently and drive to outcomes

• Ability to collaborate with a virtual team via email, phone and other digital tools

• Have access to own computer and design programs
