Depending on specific skills, interests and training provided tasks could include any of the following(as agreed on an ongoing basis in collaboration with Heritage Manager) :

• Administration - cataloguing, database management, office organisation
• Historical research
• Assisting with tour groups to CADCAI / events/ festivals
• Updating of social media and website content
• Grant writing

We are looking for volunteers who are self starters and can work without supervision.

Skills/Qualification/opportunities to be gained:

• Cross-cultural knowledge and understanding
• Knowledge and understanding of Chinese migration and settlement of Cairns and region since the late 18th century
• Knowledge and experience in Museum collections management and practice
• Meet, work and socialise with other passionate and community minded people with similar interests
• Attend workshops, talks, exhibitions and displays, conferences and other related training and education.
