Plastic Oceans Australasia

Plastic Oceans Australasia is a Non-Governmental Organisation working to stem the tide on single use plastic pollution. We work across Australia, New Zealand and neighbouring islands to educate and empower people to reduce their plastic consumption. The Plastic Oceans Australasia (POA) head office is based in Melbourne, though the grant researcher and writer position is online/work from home.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work from home remotely from any state in Australia
  • Assist in researching and identifying grant opportunities to support programs and activities for POA in line with POA priorities
  • Develop and refine organisational procedures for the grants process, including the identification of key steps/components of successful grant applications
  • Build relationships and network with local and State government and non-government organisations and businesses to source and acquit grants funding for POA

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Professional experience in grant writing and management or similar role (3-5 years)
  • Demonstrated research and analysis skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Sound time management, organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of local and State Government and ability to work effectively with community groups and other stakeholders
  • Current (or willing to obtain) National Police Check
