Board Director
Australian Functional Fitness FederationTo be successful as a Board Member you should have significant professional leadership experience, understanding of good governance in the context of non-for profit enterprise, strong communication skills and be passionately committed to the AFFF’s mission.
We are seeking applicants with skills and experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
- Financial management
- Sports management and/or administration
- Marketing\, sponsorship and promotion
- Technical official and/or sporting accreditation
- Membership management and growth
- Media management
- Sporting competition and event management
- Corporate governance and reporting
- Corporate risk management
- Sports anti-doping
Board Member Responsibilities
- Determine the organisation's strategic direction\, mission\, programs\, policies\, and needs
- Approve\, monitor and review the financial and non-financial performance of the organisation\, and ensure fiduciary responsibilities are met
- Ensure financial and non-financial risks are appropriately identified and managed
- Ensure the AFFF complies with all relevant laws\, codes of conduct and appropriate standards of behaviour
- Provide an avenue for key stakeholder input into the strategic direction of the organisation
- Ensure director\, board and chairman performance evaluation occurs regularly
- Be appropriately prepared for\, and commit to attending\, the Annual General Meeting and board meetings that are held every two months\, or as required\, and
- Attend sub-committee meetings\, competition events\, award presentation and social functions as required
Minimum requirements
- Proven track record in a professional leadership role
- Knowledge of the organisation and the relevant industry
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred experience
- Previous board experience
- Experience in developing a national-level sporting organisation
