JCI Brisbane has been very active in delivering fun and meaningful events to empower young professionals to broaden their perspectives and make a difference.

In response to COVID-19, JCI Brisbane has established a Facebook initiative, JCI Together, as a way to support and bring young people around the world together.

Specifically, JCI Together offers industry-standard and high-quality webinar training via Facebook Live and Zoom. Since its inception in April 2020, JCI Brisbane has successfully delivered, through JCI Together, 10 webinars to its private Facebook community, which has over 900 members from over 90 countries.

To help JCI Brisbane grow its online (JCI Together) and offline events (post-COVID-19) program and further its social impact, we are looking for an energetic individual under 40 to take on the Events Officer position.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of Events Officer will be assisting the delivery of JCI Together webinars via Facebook Live and Zoom.

Working closely with Local President and supported by JCI Australia, Events Officer will encourage and manage online engagements (online questions, comments) while webinars are in progress.

Events Officer may also assist with backend set up in Zoom prior to and during the running of webinars.

Once the COVID-19 crisis subsides, Events Officer will continue their support by assisting with event recording or streaming using social media channels such as Facebook Live and/or Zoom.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Attending a minimum of 70% of virtual webinars to assist with online engagement.
  • Attending a minimum of 70% of offline events post-COVID-19 to assist with event recording or streaming.

Skills and Experiences

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experiences:

  • Is experienced in Facebook and Facebook Live.
  • Is comfortable with or willing to learn how to use Zoom, Slack and Google Drive.
  • Can work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
  • Is able to commit to at least 6 months to the position.
  • Have a positive and can-do attitude.
  • Is willing to become a member of JCI Brisbane.
  • Identifies with JCI's mission, which is to provide development opportunities to empower young people to make positive change.
