About SisterWorks

SisterWorks is a not-for-profit social enterprise, with its head office based in Abbotsford , Melbourne. SisterWorks’ mission is to support women from refugee, asylum seeker or migrant backgrounds to improve their confidence, mental wellbeing, sense of belonging and economic outlook. SisterWorks does this through providing learning opportunities in a safe environment where Sisters can build their skills and community, gain both the knowledge and the confidence to seek employment or further study. Our vision is an Australia where all migrant women are given the opportunities to become economically empowered.

Our Core Values and Beliefs

The SisterWorks model, 'Work Empowers Women', is centred around empowerment, fostering a sense of independence, providing opportunities for building a community, learning new skills, and earning an income through hands-on, vocational training and employment opportunities. This is achieved via our Empowerment Hubs in Abbotsford, Bendigo and Dandenong hub. SisterWorks has six (6) core values and beliefs in which we stand by, which are:

Role Responsibilities Your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Enrich and maintain an extensive library of SisterWorks products
• Assist the Social Enterprise and Marketing team to audit and maintain high quality content across their e-commerce platform and product packaging
• To write simple, eye catching and detailed descriptions of products and other similar content
• Maintain merchandising that drives conversion and improve the customer shopping experience
• Liaise with Graphic Design & Product Lead to provide accurate and detailed descriptions and product information

Your Qualifications, Skills & Experience: To be successful you must have:

• A passion for writing and/or desire to learn copywriting skills and a love of writing product descriptions
• Previous experience in data entry or a similar administrative role will be highly desired
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to easily adapt to changing priorities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Microsoft Excel or a desire to learn
• Women with lived experience as a migrant, refugee or seeking asylum are encouraged to apply
