Voice-Chat Volunteer
genUHelp us provide social support where it is needed the most! We are seeking Voice-Chat Volunteers who love to connect and offer companionship from the safety and comfort of your own home!
As a Voice-Chat Volunteer, you will provide regular phone companionship to an older person or person living with a disability, making sure they remain connected and socially engaged, despite the physical and mental health challenges faced by the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you are looking for an opportunity to enhance someone’s life, we want to hear from you!
There are also options to upgrade to a Video-Chat Volunteer! If this sounds interesting, one of our friendly E-Mentors from the Volunteers Office will assist you to get set up!
The essentials: Volunteers must have an accessible phone capable of making voice calls from home.
We ask you to make 1 call per week to your voice-chat client experiencing social isolation (approx. 1 hour per week of time commitment)
Calls to take place Mon - Friday between 9:00 - 5:00pm
You will learn a little bit about your client to help you connect and regular assistance is available via the genU Volunteers Office to support you along the way!
