Volunteer to assist our elderly community members learn how to use and embrace technology.

Online connectivity can help to avoid social isolation and improves independence by allowing seniors to access and research services.

We need volunteers to help our seniors use technology with confidence and learn basic skills such as: • how to video chat • doing online research for personal interests, hobbies and activities • finding news and books online, watching videos, listening to music • connecting with people and building new social connections

STAR Tech is a unique program to support seniors in using digital technology in their everyday lives. STAR Tech volunteers will support the elderly participants learn basic internet skills via workshops, phone/video calls and home visits.

Volunteers can expect to commit up to 6 hours a week to support participants in workshops, via phone calls or home visits.

This is a rewarding role - one which you can see the difference you can make almost immediately!

The program is run by STAR Community Services and supported by the Australian Government Department of Health through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme Innovation Funding.

Induction and training will be provided to successful applicants.
