About the Role The Open Door provides a safe and welcoming place for people who are experiencing financial difficulties to access financial and material assistance. This service is run by volunteers run the service alongside UCWB staff Monday to Friday 10:00am to 2:30pm . Supervised and supported by the ER Coordinator and working alongside a team of fellow volunteers, you will:
- Perform reception duties such as, greeting clients, answering phones, data entry, and booking appointments.
- Intake and assessment - conduct client interviews
- Provide referrals to relevant services as required
About You
You will be kind, understanding and comfortable supporting people when they are at their most vulnerable. We are seeking volunteers who are able to make an ongoing long term commitment of at least 1 or 2 days per week from 9:45am to 2:30pm.
You will also require or be willing to undergo a DHS Volunteer Screening.
