Furry Friends Animal Rescue Queensland is a not-for-profit organisation that operates virtually and promotes animal welfare. This is done by providing temporary foster homes for homeless pets, adopting them to qualified homes and reducing overpopulation through the de-sexing of all animals.

The Mission of Furry Friends Animal Rescue Queensland is to minimise the large number of companion animals killed every year in pounds and shelters; and to educate people about the benefits of responsible pet ownership.

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team and support our treasurer for 2-5 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months.

The successful volunteer will be a whiz at figures and spreadsheets, able to use Xero and Commbiz or open to learning, and ideally may be studying or have previous experience in accounting or bookkeeping.

Working with the treasurer you will: • Issue receipts to donors • Assist the treasurer with preparing for auditing, annual general report and other duties as required • Attend monthly meeting with the Treasury Team • Update the treasurer on any issues, concerns etc • Maintain meticulous records • Monitoring emails and responding

The successful applicant will have:

• Experience using Xero for accounts payable and receivable • Experience using Commbiz / Commbank online portal • Tertiary qualifications in book keeping desirable • Excellent written and verbal communication • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines • Be an ambassador of our mission and uphold our commitment to responsible pet ownership

As this role is primarily based at home, you will need: • Own Computer • Reliable phone • Reliable internet and antivirus • Facebook account
