Community Visitors
Central Bayside Community Health ServicesEnrich the quality of life of residents of aged care facilities who are socially isolated or lonely, and who would benefit from a friendly Community Visitor.
A Community Health Service requires volunteers required to virtually visit (during Covid-19) lonely or socially isolated people in aged care homes in the areas of Brighton, Kingston and Glen Eira.
You will be matched with a resident of an aged care facility, visiting on a regular basis to provide friendship and companionship. Visits are spent doing something both the resident and the volunteer enjoy - reading, listening to music, chatting, reminiscing or going for a walk or an outing.
The service operates within the geographic municipal areas of Brighton and Kingston and Glen Eira, working with 43 aged care facilities. Visitors visit as friends/companions on a fortnightly basis. You must be aged 18 years and over, are required to undergo a police check and provide two referees prior to commencing.
