Street Mission is a charity operating two community cafes for the homeless and disadvantaged in Sydney’s Northern Beaches region and serves an estimated 250-300 guests per month using a 100% volunteer workforce. The cafes prepare and serve wholesome, freshly prepared meals at 7pm Wednesdays in Dee Why and 6.00pm Saturdays in Balgowlah

We are looking for applicants to join our volunteer committee overseeing operations and governance of this amazing charity. (It is preferred if applicants are within a reasonable travel time to Dee Why and Balgowlah)

The following items are discussed at monthly Committee meetings:

• Café attendance, incidents, concerns
• Volunteers and Supervisors (issues, support, training, new applications)
• Fundraising initiatives for Street Mission
• Monthly financials provided by Treasurer
• Risk Register reviewed every quarter

In addition to Committee meetings, Committee members are involved in various ad-hoc projects, including fundraising applications, organising volunteer functions and managing stakeholder relationships.

We are currently seeking to strengthen a range of skills including:

• Fundraising from community and/or corporate initiatives
• Finance skills to assist the Treasurer
• Company secretarial and Governance
• Community service
• Event management and/or project management skill sets
• IT, website enhancement etc

Committee meetings are currently being held both in person and online.
