Engagement and Promotions Officer Volunteer

Outline of the role: Cancer Council NSW is a community funded, community focused cancer charity dedicated to working towards a cancer free future. There are things that we can all do every day to help make this happen.

We are looking for a highly motivated people with a passion for Marketing and Promotions looking to utilise their skills and enthusiasm for a great cause!

Based in community locations around Illawarra, your key accountabilities will include: • Attending community events and market stalls to promote and advocate The Cancer Council NSW brand, fundraising events & volunteering opportunities, through: o Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders o Distributing flyers and sharing information o Selling raffle tickets to support a range of fundraising activities o Sunscreen messaging and handouts o Social media engagement o Engaging with the local community • Work cooperatively with a team of volunteers and Cancer Council staff

Our ideal volunteer will have: • Good interpersonal skills with an approachable and friendly manner • Confidence to engage with members of the community • Social media skills • A commitment to volunteering and team work • Initiative and enthusiasm • Commitment to the cancer cause and the mission of Cancer Council NSW

This is a volunteering position where hours will be dependent on differing assignments and subject to availability across the team. It is expected that all team members will support the delivery of 1-2 events per month making this a flexible role to fit in with your university schedule or life commitments.
