SA In Search of Safety Community Educator- Adelaide

The program Red Cross has developed an educational program that talk to school students and community groups about the asylum seeker journey and the reasons why people seek protection in Australia whilst promoting compassion, harmony and social cohesion in line with Red Cross Strategy 2020.

The opportunity This volunteer will work closely with the program team members and support the delivery of the presentations for primary schools, secondary schools and the community, giving volunteers valuable insights into the reasons why people seek asylum.  In addition, the volunteer will have a unique opportunity to share unbiased and neutral information so that participants have the chance to engage in the conversation and explore this topic further with their communities.

The impact As a volunteer you will learn about a variety of resources that can be used to understand the very essence of human rights, asylum seeking and why people migrate to Australia.  Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World's largest humanitarian network.
