Creative Writing Tutor (Greater Western Sydney) - commencing Oct 2023
Story FactoryWe're looking for volunteers to join us for Term 4 intake in October 2023.
Story Factory is a not-for-profit creative writing centre for young people in under-resourced communities across Sydney and NSW. We build writing skills, confidence and creativity, and our workshops aim to improve young people's literacy and help them find their voice.
Our workshops are designed by creative writing and literacy experts, our Storytellers, who work with teachers and schools to craft programs that respond to the specific needs of young people to build literacy, confidence and creativity.
Workshops are led by Storytellers with support from Volunteer Tutors. Tutors are a source of support and encouragement, helping to nurture the voices, stories and dreams of our young people. Young people are empowered to create stories of all kinds, which we publish and celebrate.
Volunteer Role
Volunteers work with students in small groups to support them write all kinds of stories, from narrative fiction, poetry, performance script, a radio podcast, short film, memoir, letters, comic strips, etc., which we then publish.
