The St Vincent de Paul Society is a lay Catholic Organisation working to support people experiencing poverty and inequality. We work to shape a more just and compassionate society. We assist in offering “a hand up” to people in need. We do this by respecting their dignity, sharing our hope, and encouraging them to take control of their own destiny.

Becoming and Associate Member at the Nagle Centre will help us support the increasing number of people who are experiencing disadvantage.

It is not a requirement to be Catholic or have any religious affiliation to become a part of the St Vincent de Paul Society. We do ask that you be respectful and be prepared to work under the Ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society

We are looking for people who have/are:

  • Exceptional listening skills.

  • Non judgemental.

  • Excellent boundaries.

  • Warm, welcoming and compassionate.

  • Basic computer skills

  • Good time management skills.

In this role you will:

  • Engage with people experiencing disadvantage.

  • Engage in the mission of the St Vincent de Paul Society

  • Where needed support people with material assistance such as food vouchers, clothing or household goods.

  • be able to commit to at least one day a week

  • Willing to be trained.

  • undertake administrative and data entry duties as needed.

Please note that a Working With Children Check and a National Police History Check are mandatory for any role within the St Vincent de Paul Society.
