Historical Educational Activities Presenter
Ipswich Historical Society IncorporatedThe hands-on activities for primary students may include: attending an old-fashioned schoolroom, doing the washing by hand, cutting the grass with old mowers, spinning and weaving, etc. Each activity is run by a volunteer. We hope to also see secondary students visiting this year. Abilities: communicate well with primary and secondary students undertake some training impart historical knowledge run an activity safely from provided guidelines use their sense of humour Volunteer for a five-hour session during school visits (approx. 8 am to 1 pm) Students rotate through the numbered stations so that by the time they leave they have all experienced all the selected activities. A 30-minute break for morning tea is scheduled for students, supervisors and volunteers.
