Palliative Care Biography Volunteer
Digital Literacy FoundationAs a biography volunteer, you will enable patients/clients to review their life and share reflections, and assist them to produce a written memoir for themselves, and their families. This service is for patients living in Western Sydney Local Health District – covering Westmead, Auburn, Blacktown and Mt Druitt.
Summary of Position: - Visit clients at home\, or in hospital\, for 1-2 hours per week for 6-8 weeks. - Transcribe clients words into book form; including photos/diagrams as appropriate - Complete client Biography with editorial support and feedback from Volunteer Manager
Responsibilities: - Liaise with Volunteer Manager regularly - Follow the directions of the Manager to complete the client Biography in a timely manner - Attend support meeting/trainings - Maintain client privacy and confidentiality and adhere to NSW Health Code of Conduct - Maintain boundaries and own self care - Address any concerns to the Volunteer Manager immediately
