A Not for Profit Organisation is looking for Transport Assistants to accompany their customers on their weekly shopping trips. This is a Centre based activity, using Community buses and leaving from Guildford Community Centre.

About The Role:

• Transport Assistants assist customer on and off the bus
• Ensure customer’s seatbelts are securely locked in place
• Check customer hasn’t left any personal belongings on the bus
• Assist customer with shopping, paying bills or other errands as required e.g. pushing trolley, reaching for items, carrying bags
• Report any problems or concerns to bus driver or other staff members
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with customers, staff and other volunteers
• Transport Assistants are needed weekdays, between 9am and 4pm

• Commitment to working with elderly people and people with disabilities
• Commitment to work within the guidelines/legislation relevant to this position
• Commitment to maintain confidentiality
• Trustworthy, patient, reliable and willing to submit to criminal record checks
