Community Café Supervisor - Balgowlah (1 Saturday night per month)

After applying, please check your JUNK MAIL folder for email correspondence from Street Mission
Street Mission is a charity operating two cafes for the homeless and disadvantaged in Sydney’s Northern Beaches region and serve over 300 meals a month using a 100% volunteer workforce.
Street Mission is seeking a trainee Community Café supervisor at its Balgowlah Café, which runs on Saturday nights, from 4:30 until around 7:30 PM. Ideally the person will be available on a regular basis, preferably one Saturday evening every month.
Experience in food preparation and some experience in kitchen supervision (whether in a commercial kitchen, school or sport canteen, or other volunteer organisation, etc) is highly desirable.
Our Community Café supervisor role is a dynamic and engaging role that includes meal planning and purchasing of ingredients, assisting with and supervising other volunteers in the preparation and serving of the meal, overseeing kitchen clean-up and securing the premises.
Access to a vehicle is important, to bring the purchased ingredients to the kitchen.
You will meet and interact with new people from all walks of life, develop your management and supervision skills, and be a part of a close-knit team sharing conversation and a nutritious hot meal with the homeless and disadvantaged in our community.
Feel free to do it with a friend or partner!
If you are located in western or southern Sydney, please also consider the travel time to Balgowlah.
