Sag vehicle Support

Bicycle SA
Logo for Bicycle SA

If you enjoy working outdoors, and able to accompany and support the Sag vehicle driver, then we would you like to be part of Bicycle SA's series of Grand/Mini Slam recreational rides volunteer team. This is an excellent opportunity to learn/gain navigational skills throughout the Adelaide Hills and also be able to identify and retrieve signage..

The 2023 Grand/Mini series of 5 recreational bike rides comprise of five rides held in the Adelaide Hills, with start/finish locations as follows: Sunday 26 February - Mt Torrens Centenary Park, Oval Rd, Mt Torrens Sunday 26 March - Woodside Netball Club, Onkaparinga Valley Rd, Woodside Sunday 4 June - Yankalilla Football Club, Yankalilla Sunday 27 August - Queen Victoria Jubillee Park, Srington Rd, Williamstown Sunday 24 September - Echunga Memorial Hall, Echunga

Your volunteer role will be to accompany and support the sag, or vehicle which is following the last rider/s to ensure that they arrive back at the start locations, and retrieve signage. The role requires a good degree of patience, humour, and ability to interact with the driver.

As public transport is virtually unavailable or spasmodic on Sundays, you would need to provide your own transport to each start location. Transport is provided from there.

Lunch and refreshments provided. Requirements:

  • Map reading experience desirable
  • Cheerful personality and flexible team approach
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to work under some degree of pressure
  • Driver's License
