Are you our next grant writer? SHH was incorporated in 2013 by a dedicated team of volunteers with spinal cord injury (SCI) and their families. Providing peer support, referrals, information and encouragement that people with SCI and their loved ones may need. We’re a small organisation that doesn’t receive any federal/state funding. Most of our income stems from grants and philanthropic donations. We are looking for a dedicated, experienced and passionate volunteer who thrives working within a team.

About the Role Prepare grant applications in collaboration with other SHH staff who run various support programs.

Key responsibilities include: • Conducting research into available grants and other funding opportunities • Understanding requirements and suitability of available grants • Seeking information from funding bodies, community groups and potential project partners • Collaborate closely with SHH in grant proposal preparation • Satisfy grant reporting requirements • Other related duties as necessary

Required Experience Experience in the Not for Profit Sector, specialising in Grant applications highly regarded. • Proficient in academic writing • Efficient research skills • Strong command of Share Point and Microsoft Teams • Project management advantageous • Ability to maintain synergy with colleagues

This position would require a minimum of 4 hours per week. Initially you would be required to work at the Spinal Home Help Office, once orientation is complete you can work from home.
