Activity Assistant

As an Activity Assistant, you will provide support services to residential clients with the aim to enhance their quality of life. Activities are held in small and larger group sessions with an emphasis on supporting individuals. Activity Assistants must be punctual and reliable, have a friendly and positive attitude towards other team members and must enjoy working with the elderly, frail and cognitive impaired.
Responsibilities, Duties & Personal Attributes:
- Must be able maintain privacy and confidentiality
- Assist in preparation and set up of activities and participate
- Encourage residents to attend and participate in activities and accompany them to the activity
- Check equipment, supply needs and ensure materials are ready
- Participate/assist with lifestyle activities - e.g. walking groups, art, craft, bingo, board games, group social functions, entertainment/musical performances and movies
- Be prepared to to attend any mandatory training sessions as required
- Must have or willing to apply for a National Police Check (at no cost)
- Abide by all policies and procedures and OH&S protocol
