The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Samarinda Ashburton Aged Services (SAAS).

Meals on Wheels assists many people in the community to live independently in their own homes by providing delicious, nutritious 3 course meals on weekdays and frozen meals for weekends and public holidays. Meals on Wheels also provides regular social contact and a friendly check to ensure all is well. Volunteers ensure the meals delivered are what was ordered and even assist clients in putting meals away as needed.

Our clients include those who cannot cook or shop for themselves, such as older people, people with a disability or those recovering from an illness or injury. Your vital assistance makes a difference to the lives of elderly residents across Camberwell, Glen Iris, Ashburton & Ashwood.

Key skills or experience:

• A strong commitment to working with older people across Camberwell, Glen Iris, Ashburton & Ashwood.
• "Can-do" attitude, some spare time on weekday mornings between 10:30-12:00 (days and times are flexible)
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Meals on Wheels Volunteers use their own vehicle. Petrol money can be provided as reimbursement. Training is provided. Meals on Wheels is authorised to conduct Police Checks free of charge for volunteers. All volunteers are required to provide evidence of Covid Vaccination status.
