The Community Kitchen provides a place for guests to; interact with the broader Australian community, to share a meal and experience multicultural Australia, access specialist service providers, information and skills development, meet new people, practise English, and participate in music and sporting activities. As the Community Kitchen – Kitchen Team Leader you will be asked to: • Manage a team of volunteers working in the kitchen and serving lunch in alignment with safe food standards; this team could include a combination of community and corporate volunteers, clients and SSI staff • Coordinate the set-up and pack-down of the commercial kitchen in collaboration with the chef and in accordance with Auburn Centre for Community (AC4C) procedures • Manage and monitor stock supplies in accordance with safe food practices • Facilitate volunteer and guest introductions while cooking
Community Kitchen – Kitchen Team Leader volunteer position requires a regular commitment every second Wednesday, 9 am to 4 pm.
