Lifeline WA is the leading provider of suicide prevention and crisis support services in Western Australia. Part of the national Lifeline network, Lifeline WA directly answers more than 25,000 calls each year to the 13 11 14 Telephone Crisis Support service. Lifeline WA delivers services that aim to prevent suicide, support people in crisis and create opportunities for emotional wellbeing. People contact Lifeline’s crisis support services about: - Suicidal thoughts or attempts - Personal crisis - Anxiety - Depression - Mental health issues such as schizophrenia, PND, BiPolar etc. - Loneliness - Abuse and trauma - Stresses from work, family or society - Self-help information for friends and family - Grief and loss - Addiction - Relationship crisis Target group: The service provides accessible help to people needing support at a time of crisis in their lives, whatever the issue, whoever they may be, wherever they are located. It aims to help help-seekers find immediate relief from emotional distress, explore coping strategies for the current crisis, safely manage any immediate threats to life or safety, open pathways for longer term solutions to underlying issues or preventative measures, and focus specific next steps the help-seeker can take to follow-up on after the contact. It seeks to achieve these aims by supportively engaging with the help-seeker in an empathic, collaborative, non-judgemental and empowering process.
