WEA Adult Learning

Logo for WEA Adult Learning

The Workers' Educational Association of South Australia Incorporated, founded in 1913 and known locally as the WEA, is Australia's largest non-government adult community education organisation. The WEA was founded to support working men and women to access education they could not otherwise afford. The WEA today operates as an innovative, flexible provider of adult learning and offers a range of afforable and accessible short courses in cooking, art, craft, languages, history, music, fitness, dance, wine, computing, business, wellbeing, finance, creative writing, travel, photography, and more. The WEA is an independent, non-government association almost completely funded by the student fees that it receives. There are generally no pre-requisites for courses and no assessment or exams. The fully-accessible WEA centre is conveniently located in Angas Street in the Adelaide CBD and offers on-site parking and easy access to a variety of public transport options.
