Highfields Pioneer Village, Museum and Park Inc is a community based non-profit association established in 2000 to conduct, maintain and add to a functioning pioneer village at Highfields on the eastern Darling Downs. The association has 334 members drawn from a wide cross section of the community. The geographical area from which members are drawn primarily covers the eastern Darling Downs and the South Burnett with a few from Brisbane and environs. Mission Statement: The objects of the association are to preserve, record and present aspects of the architecture, artifacts and skills of pioneering Australian rural life on the Darling Downs. The association maintains not only a static display of significant historical artifacts and architecture and records of significant historic events, but also demonstrates the traditional skills by which early settlers established and built communities on the Darling Downs.
