Australian Skin Cancer Foundation

Logo for Australian Skin Cancer Foundation

Australian Skin Cancer Foundation started December 2021 with just a marquee, a few teardrop flags, 3 board members (we now have five!), a few volunteers at Bondi Beach, and a thousand ideas! All of us at ASCF are and have been affected by cancer. All of us are doing all we can to eradicate this horrible disease. It’s our promise to our mates who have passed away from this horrible disease and to all the families who have lost loved ones and continue to suffer, that we will not stop. Our drive to start the foundation was because of the lack of support for patients across Australia. They needed a voice and we wanted to be it! Australia is #1, along with New Zealand, for melanoma diagnosis, and yet the most popular thing to do on a hot summer day is to get a tan. We knew we needed to change this culture and we decided to do it with our 4 pillars – Advocacy, Education, Research and Support.
