Boxhead Plastics, founded in January 2020, is a non-profit enterprise that collects, recycles, and remanufactures scrap plastic car bumper bars. The Australian automotive industry plastic recycle rate is 1.9%. The Boxhead team has pioneered an innovative process that repurposes waste car bumper bars into products such as golf tees and coasters (www.naiteev.com). Boxhead’s aim is to create new industries, new jobs and secure a sustainable future for Australia. Since inception Boxhad has recycled 4.2 tonne of bumper bars with a vision to collect every scrap plastic car bumper bar in Australia for recycling and remanufacturing.
