The Mayor of Camden Ald. R. B. Ferguson called for a public meeting on 23 June 1970 for the purpose of forming “Meals on Wheels”. On that night a committee of eight was formed and Meals on Wheels served 9 meals on its first day which was 28 September 1970. In its first year Caring for Camden, Camden Meals on Wheels served 3,237 meals. Camden Meals on Wheels provided its first meals from Camden Hospital. We later moved to Carrington where we provided services for many years, we are now located on Little Street in Camden.
