A driving force behind the success of Bushwalking NSW, you will enjoy supporting and developing the systems which keep Bushwalking NSW delivering services and information to bushwalkers in NSW and ACT.

You will work closely with our Executive Officer and key club members, with our website as your first priority, followed by as many other systems and projects that you wish to take on. See more below.

Your expertise will help Bushwalking NSW Inc. achieve its vision to build healthy, active communities inspired by nature. We are committed to conserving Australia’s unique ecosystems, and promoting good health through inspiring outdoor adventure and community involvement.

Main Responsibilities: • Maintaining our WordPress website and plug-ins through software upgrades using CPanel • Updating our Google Map with club locations • Maintaining our MailChimp sign-up form on our WordPress site • Providing guidance with WordPress front-end configuration • Monitoring our disk usage, hosted sub-sites, and providing email addresses using CPanel • Providing website clones as required for testing/upgrades

Skills: • Advanced CPanel skills • Advanced WordPress skills • HTML & CSS knowledge • Experience with Google Maps beneficial • Testing skills • Sound and thorough approach to security • Ability to learn new systems and envisage their effective implementation • Good documentation practices • Reliable and consistent • Organised and able to meet deadlines • Able to engage with stakeholders • Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel)

Experience: • Experience with CPanel, WordPress, and testing essential • Experience with other systems highly desirable but not a necessity • Training can be provided to the right candidate with the right attitude and a willingness to make a 6-12 month commitment.

We currently use WordPress, CPanel, MailChimp, EventBrite, Xero, and most things Google. With your help, we could modernise our website, implement Google for non-profits, a CRM for non-profits, and a photo management system. Or you could expand the content on our website to include more walks, and develop a walks calendar.

Additional projects you could take on to make a significant difference to Bushwalking NSW and bushwalkers: • Add a new WordPress page template to list many more walks on our website and populate it with walk information • Implementing Google for non-profits • Create a shared online trips calendar with walk ideas, inter-club walks, publicity of club walks • Implementing Salesforce for non-profits • Creating an online forum for members to discuss bushwalking and related issues such as conservation, and tracks and access, Safety, rescue, risk management • Organising our Information Management • Providing a photo management solution
