Collect rescued food to help feed hungry families
Foodbank NSW & ACTRight now we need volunteers to assist with picking up small donations of food and work in out warehouse on a regular basis.
Foodbank volunteers help us to distribute much needed food to charities across NSW every day. Last year, this meant that the equivalent of 20,500,000 meals were provided to people in need.
This is a great opportunity to help out, gain experience in a warehouse environment, or simply try volunteering to see if it works for you. Our volunteers tell us that volunteering with us keeps them active, helps them train for new careers, and makes them feel like they belong to something important.
This volunteering opportunity means that you will help us with a range of tasks including:
- Collecting small food donations in Foodbank's vehicle
- Sorting of mixed food, grocery items and fresh produce
- Packing of Emergency Packs
- Packing of Charity Food Orders
- Assist in stocking shelves
Full Automatic drivers licence (C class) is required, and volunteers do need to wear comfortable clothes and steel capped shoes. Our location is just off the M7, and is easily accessible by car. Public transport is available, with a bus stop close by.
If this opportunity sounds like it is right for you, please express your interest and indicate what days you are available to volunteer.
