Warrandyte is located on the banks of the Yarra River (Birrarung), surrounded by State Park, just 30kms east of Melbourne. There are over 90 shops waiting to be explored, in three separate shopping precincts. Tourists, walkers, community groups and families have always found Warrandyte a perfect spot to rejuvenate, eat, shop, relax and enjoy the beautiful riverside serenity.

Information Warrandyte is a community based centre staffed entirely by volunteers to provide general information and referrals to the public. Our service is free, confidential, impartial, independent and community based. New volunteers are always welcome.

We make referrals and provide information about local tourist information and accommodation, leisure and recreation activities, tax help, local transport, short courses and many other subjects of a personal and/or consumer nature. We also provide an emergency relief service in association with Doncare Community Services.

Information Warrandyte is currently open during weekdays only. We're keen to reopen on Sundays to provide tourist information and we're building a team of outgoing volunteers who enjoy meeting people, to work from 11am to 3pm on Sundays, on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. There'll be two volunteers at each shift and you might like to volunteer with a partner or other friend. And at the end of your shift, you'll be in the heart of Warrandyte, just a short stroll from caf├ęs, shops, the Yarra River, and walking tracks.

As a new volunteer, you'll be well trained by Information Warrandyte and well supported during your Sunday shifts. There are detailed procedures and guidelines for opening and closing the office and for your other duties. Note that as a Tourist information volunteer, you wouldn't be providing the full range of information, referrals and service that the further trained volunteers provide on weekdays.

You don't need to be a Warrandyte local for this enjoyable position. Many of our volunteers live outside Warrandyte and your training will include the local information you'll need to know, as well as how to look up information on other services and activities if required.

To experience our friendly service, you might like to drop in and see us in action. We're open Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm.

If you'd like to contribute more to Information Warrandyte, there are other rewarding opportunities for further involvement and a range of ways for you to use your unique skills to benefit others.
