Ipswich Hospital Foundation (IHF) is looking for a social, enthusiastic, outgoing person who is reliable, comfortable in leading a group of people and interested in health/fitness. We are looking for someone to be the group leader for a walking group for an hour in the morning (7-8am) twice per week at a local Ipswich shopping centre.
This person will be responsible for the following: • Signing in attendees • Assisting new attendees in filling out a waiver form • Walking with attendees • Cash handling • Reporting to an IHF staff member
The person will need their own transport to and from the venue. It is favourable that the person applying has a current First Aid and CPR certificates plus a current blue card. The person will need to be willing to gain these certificates/keep them up to date plus apply for a blue card at the cost of the Ipswich Hospital Foundation, not the individual.
The IHF (Australia) encourages volunteers to develop their teamwork and leadership skills and represent the Foundation at community events and venues.
Volunteering helps you to develop networks within the community. Volunteers need to be able to organise their own way to and from Ipswich regularly and be reliable with good time management skills and comfortable speaking/directing people. The person needs to be willing and able to complete a small amount of paperwork as well as take cash payments. If you are an empathetic person and are looking to share your skills – volunteering is an ideal activity.
