The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of The Chinese Cancer and Chronic Illness Society of Victoria.

The Chinese Cancer and Chronic Illness Society of Victoria are seeking Home Visit Volunteers to make regular home visit and provide companionship and friendship to our clients and their careers. The visits are relaxed and social in nature, where you might chat, read the newspaper, listen to music or share a common interest. You will be trained to equip with some basic counseling techniques. The frequency of the visit would depend on the needs of the clients.

Key skills or requirements:

• A positive, caring and patient person
• Good listening and communication skills
• Ability to read and converse in Chinese (either Cantonese or Mandarin)
