Kalparrin was established at Princess Margaret Hospital over 30 years ago and provides practical and emotional support, information, referrals and events to families who have children with  disabilities, health conditions and frequent/long term hospital admissions.

We relocated last year to new premises at PCH and now the Kalparrin Centre is a place that has comfy lounges, a private area for massage and  friendly,well- informed staff. We are keen our extend this service to offer a some moments of relaxation when it is needed most during their child's hospitalisation.

To enable us to do this we are seeking the skills & services of an experienced & qualified therapeutic massage specialist on a fortnightly/monthly  basis

By volunteering in this role you will support parents and carers who's children are in hospital by providing them with a 30 minute neck and shoulder massage. Many of these parent are experiencing stress and are often sleeping long-term at their child’s bedside.

It is a very rewarding opportunity for a caring professional who has some spare time to give and we can guarantee that it would be most appreciated by families for whom this can really make a difference.

We provide a private area and professional massage table or chair so you do not need to bring your own equipment

Besides your demonstrated skills & training , other requirements for this role are the ability to maintain confidentiality, a positive, empathetic approach to your work and good listening skills
