As volunteer you will assist in maintaining the smooth running of the Centre every week. It is an opportunity to contribute and participate in the community. Being able to speak the clients’ language allows the client to have culturally adequate experience, which is highly appreciated. Types of Activities include:

1. Assist and participate in activities e.g. gentle exercise, ball games, quizzes, games, crafts, using tablets, cooking and outings.
2. Assist in setting up and packing the venue
3. Assist in transportation arrangement
4. Escort and assist group members on the bus / car when necessary.
5. Assist in preparation of meals and distribute to group members
6. Report relevant information to the Respite Service Coordinator for the keeping of up to date client records
7. Follow all occupational, Health and Safety (OHS) procedures within the working environment
8. Assist in ensuring security of the premises
9. Ensure the service is culturally sensitive and takes into consideration all the needs of clients as much as possible.
10. Participate in group discussions.
11. Inform the Group Facilitator of information relevant to the program and of any changes or concerns about the venue or clients accessing the service
12. Perform any other duties relevant to the position as directed by the Activity Coordinator.
13. Other duties as directed by Group Facilitator.
