On Thursdays we need a volunteer for a cooking class. It is for people with mental illness or intellectual disabilities, and  it is very useful for the teacher to have a volunteer to help with the class participants.  The class is designed to help them learn about nutrition, budgeting, shopping, and cooking healthy meals. Some of the participants are accompanied by a case worker. Each week the students, with the help of the teacher, cook a three course meal and then are rewarded by eating it. Lunch is usually a very happy affair.

The class starts at 9.30am and finishes at 12.30-1.00. It is structured around a curriculum and the course is accredited, so the students are assessed. A volunteer would also help with this.
